As the company's Legal Officer, you will oversee all legal matters related to the company’s operations, including contract management, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, and claims handling. The role requires a diligent, detail-oriented professional who can protect the company’s interests, assess legal risks, and ensure full compliance with Nigerian laws governing transport, labor, safety, and business operations.

Requirements

Education

  • LL.B degree in Law
  • B.L from the Nigerian Law School (Must be a qualified lawyer)

Experience/Skills

  • 2–5 years post-call legal experience in corporate law.
  • Strong experience in drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and legal documents
  • Good knowledge of Nigerian transport regulations, labor laws, and compliance rules
  • Experience handling disputes, investigations, and legal claims
  • Strong negotiation and advisory skills

  • Liaise with insurance companies, law enforcement, and regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare legal opinions and advise management on risks or liabilities.
  • Manage court matters and coordinate with external solicitors when required.
  • Maintain proper legal documentation and compliance records.
  • Represent the company in meetings, hearings, or regulatory inquiries.
  • Proactively identify legal risks and recommend preventive measures.
